I know it’s barely been a year since I decided to blog full time in January 2015, but I decided my almost two-year-old blog deserved a makeover to really mark my fresh start, especially since it has been doing so well in just a short span of time (excuse my shameless self-promotion, haha). I’ve been aching to update the look to something simpler, cleaner, more statement-making, and more ME—with bigger and better images and font, lots of PINK and touches of purple, and more features to make your browsing of my blog easier, whatever device you are on.

I first worked on this blog as a goal for a life coaching activity I took part in back in 2013 called LEAP (contact me if you want more details about this). I got a lot of help from friends in putting the blog together. I only had less than two months to work on it, from the design to the backend of the site, not to mention populating it with at least 30 entries before “going live,” so it somehow felt rushed to me, but I made it work. I always get compliments about how clean and easy to read it is.

But I’ve evolved since 2013, and I wanted my blog to keep up. So I tapped tech solutions company REBAR to redesign and revamp my blog. Rebar offers a wide variety of services that include the development of social networking sites, websites, apps, and high-performing software that transforms the way institutions utilize their resources.  They also do consultancy, if you need help starting or improving your blog or business systems. They worked closely with me for the look and features I want, executing it perfectly, while also recommending better ways of doing things.

Just like my original blog, it took us less than two months to work on this new blog, with amazing results, in my opinion, haha! I think Rebar could have done it faster—maarte lang talaga ako with all the features I want, haha. A BIG THANK YOU to the Rebar team!

Allow me to walk you through the new look of the same blog you’ve gotten used to, with new features to enjoy:

1. It’s now responsive, yay! The website specs adjust to the screen size of your device, so it will be so much easier to read all my content. Try it on your phone, quick!

2. I’ve simplified the colors to just pink and white, with bigger black fonts, and hints of purple (my other favorite color) here and there.

3. Speaking of purple touches, don’t you just like my purple search bar? Just click on the magnifying glass icon on the pink nav bar to make the search bar appear.

3. I’ve highlighted the Latest Post, as well as listed more items for you to browse on Most Recent—now in two columns!—and You Might Also Like sections of the homepage, complete with short intros now (instead of the first sentence of my post)—so you can get the content at a glance!

I also added a Latest Post element to each of the category landing pages.

4. I wanted you to get to know me better, so I expanded my About Me page to include a brief work history, as well as what my current lifestyle blog is really about, in case you wanted it to be spelled out. Click here to check it out!

5. I’ve made it easier for you to reach me, not just by providing links to my social media accounts, but also by improving my Contact Me page. Check it out here (and say hello–or ask me anything!).

6. Yes, I’m taking my personal branding even more seriously now. Check out the new logo that Rebar designed for me!
