Want to get a massage and mani-pedi? Check out Princess Hazel Salon & Spa in QC.
I’m always on the lookout for new salons and spas to try, so when a friend invited me to try Princes Hazel Salon & Spa at the Pacific Century Tower along Quezon Avenue (near National Book Store and Crossings Department Store), I immediately agreed to visit that very Saturday. It had a really stressful week and I needed to get pretty for a wedding, so I got the works: body scrub, full-body massage, manicure and pedicure.

If you’re looking for a place that’s a one-stop shop for all your pampering and prettifying needs, this is the place to go. They even have waxing, RF (radio frequency), and hair and makeup services, so seriously, you can go here for pretty much all your beauty needs at a more affordable price.
I was only able to try two body treatments and their basic nail services, so I can’t vouch for all of them. But if you’re looking for a place in QC to get the same services I tried—including one of the best massages you’ll ever get at such an affordable price—read on.
Ambiance and interiors

Princess Hazel has cozy and very girly interiors, mostly done in gold and purple—my favorite color. There are crowns and trinkets beside each comfy mani-pedi chair, with witty, empowering framed quotes on the walls.
They have a loft where all the body treatments are done, with curtains separating each treatment bed. This is where I got my body scrub and massage. The treatment area is dimly lit and filled with a relaxing aroma, with calming music playing softly in the background.
Body scrub (P600)

I first had a body scrub. The therapist rubbed floral scented oil on my body before applying the almond scrub so my skin won’t chafe, she said. Then she wrapped me in thick plastic wrap so the scrub’s moisturizing properties will be absorbed by my body.
After 10 minutes, I was led to the shower on one end of the treatment loft, where I rinsed off the scrub. I loved how smooth my skin instantly felt to the touch and how fragrant it was.
Full-body massage (P420)

The therapist used lavender oil for the hour-long massage, as I asked for Swedish. I’ve got to say, this is one of the best massages I’ve tried—and at P420 it’s the most sulit! The therapist used strokes and touched pressure points that are different and seemed more tension-relieving than others I’ve tried before, especially on my legs and back where all my stresses seem to manifest themselves and stay.
I was so relaxed, I soon fell into a deep, relaxing sleep. I only stirred long enough to turn over and lie on my back before falling back to sleep. Next thing I knew, the hour was over and the therapist was waking me up, asking if I wanted some tea.
Manicure (P200) and pedicure (P250)

All relaxed and sleepy, I went down the stairs for my manicure and pedicure. It was just your basic mani-pedi, but what stood out for me was how fast the nail technicians worked on my nails, even as they engaged in cheerful chatter the entire time. If you’re in need of a quick mani-pedi fix and don’t want to risk going to a salon that takes way too long to get your nails done, this is where you should go. My nails were also meticulously cleaned and filed, and the polish flawlessly applied. It’s not just in how it looks: The polish lasted on my nails for two weeks. I guess it’s a combination of great work and good product (I chose a red glittery Zoya polish for my fingernails and OPI for my toenails).
They would have given me a hand and foot massage, too, had I not just come from a massage. Baka raw kasi mabugbog na ang hands and feet ko.
Overall verdict
Princess Hazel is a haven for the girly girl who wants to be pampered, well, like a princess. The flashy, fun ambiance makes it great for bonding with your gal pals, a la spa party or bridal shower. So if you’re from QC or happen to frequent the area, check out this little hole in the wall for beauty.
