Looking for the perfect summer nail shade? Take your pick from these creamy shades named after four lifestyle blogs.

One of my favorite ways to pamper myself after a stressful week is getting a mani-pedi at the salon. I got so spoiled that I rarely even do my own nails anymore. To think that back in high school and college, I always enjoyed doing my own nails. Besides not having the funds for a regular salon manicure and pedicure (I was living off my student allowance, after all), I enjoyed painting my own tips for different reasons.
In high school, it meant a sort of rebellion from the rules, since we weren’t allowed by the exclusive Catholic school for girls I attended to wear nail polish, so every time I could get away with it, I would. On one occasion when classes were cancelled in the middle of the day because of a storm, one of our male teachers allowed us to pass the time painting our nails inside the classroom, even helping us get the strokes on flawlessly, haha!
In college, I changed my nail color each week and matched ALL my outfits that week to my polish: when I’m wearing brown polish, all my outfits for the week were brown; blue outfits when my tips are blue; and so on. It made picking outfits for school (since we didn’t have a uniform or dress code, yay!) much easier—and I can plan my outfits for the week in advance.

Girlstuff sent me the whole set of Bloggers’ Elite Summer Collection, plus the fast-drying top coat and nail polish remover, in this personalized dresser essential!
Fast forward to summer 2015 and the latest collection from nail polish brand Girlstuff had me painting my own nails (albeit I’m a bit rusty at it, see below) because the colors just brought back fun high school and college memories: the Bloggers’ Elite Summer Collection with four creamy pastel shades!

I used to love painting my own nails—sometimes I’d do it like this, a different shade per tip. But now I’ve become too lazy—until Girlstuff’s Blogger Elite Summer Collection made me want to wear them all in one go, like before!
Girlstuff collaborated with some of Manila’s widely followed lifestyle, fashion, mommy, and beauty bloggers and named the four shades of the Bloggers’ Elite Summer Collection after their popular blogs.
My favorite among the four is the bohemian pink-lilac shade named after the blog AskMeWhats of my friend, working mom Nikki Tiu. She is a nail art enthusiast who absolutely adores the color pink. She describes the AskMeWhats shade as “extraordinary, very feminine… Kind of like an orchid because of its lilac undertone.”

Road-testing the pink-lilac AskMeWhats shade. One swipe of any shade from the Bloggers’ Elite Summer Collection already delivers solid color, as you can see here.
When I get my nails done, I usually pick a shade of pink or purple, but two items from the Bloggers’ Elite collection had me trying on colors I’ve never worn before: the chartreuse shade named after the blog of baby magazine editor-in-chief Frances Amper Sales, Topaz Horizon, and the lime green shade named after model and mom of two Jackie Go’s blog, Go Jackie Go.
“This yellow shade is so bright and happy, you just won’t be able to ignore it! It’s bold and fun!” Frances says of the polish named after her blog. Meanwhile, Jackie thinks her blog’s shade “has captured the calming hue of nature. And this type of shade works well with any skin tone.”
I also love the sky blue shade from the collection, inspired by the blog of fashion entrepreneur and event organizer Christina Decena called Struttingonsunshine. “What struck me the most with this blue shade is its brilliance! I see sunny skies and cerulean seas… It’s like a dreamy cruise in a bottle!” was her very detailed description of her blog’s shade.
Girlstuff Bloggers’ Elite Summer Collection has the brand’s popular gel-type formula. It’s easy to apply and comes on smooth. One swipe already delivers solid color (see photo above). All four shades are bright, bold, shiny, and long lasting. I’ve been wearing the Struttingonsunshine shade on my toes for almost two weeks now, and it’s still pretty solid and almost unchipped!
