We already expected that when they launched Pokemon GO this year. And the game is about to get even better, especially for Pinoy players. Know what’s up.

Full disclosure: I only watched a few episodes of Pokemon when I was younger, and I don’t play Pokemon GO. But I do understand that a lot of my friends and readers are avid fans of the game and the cartoon characters, so I’m posting this announcement for your benefit.

You can expect more PokeStops and Gyms in the first of many exciting things to come from the new partnership between The Pokémon Company, creators of one of the most popular entertainment properties in the world; Niantic, Inc., innovative developer and publisher of ‘real world games’; and Globe Telecom, the Philippines’ leading mobile brand.

Starting yesterday, October 28, Globe retail locations and charging stations have become PokéStops and Gyms in game, with more and more PokéStops sprouting across the country. To help spread more Pokémon GO joy, Globe will be working with its partners—Ayala Malls, Puregold, Robinsons Malls, and SM Supermalls—to allow players to see more of these markers on their Pokémon GO apps and have more chances of catching Pokémon to expand their Pokédex.

Globe will also ensure its customers have better accessibility to the app through different mobile offers. On Globe Prepaid’s leading GoSURF50 mobile promo, customers will be able to access Pokémon GO as one of the free apps within the bundle. Globe customers can also download the free Pokémon GO promo on the Globe Switch app (know more about Globe Switch here). With this partnership, you can also expect to find Pokémon merchandise—including digital connectors, cool gadgets, and a selection of apparel perfect for the holiday season—in Globe stores soon.

Guests will enjoy dance numbers from Pikachu, who will also parade around the Globe Iconic Store in BGC and hold a meet & greet session.

Globe has an ongoing Pokémon Festival—the first in the Philippines—which kicked off yesterday and will last until today, October 29, at the Globe Iconic Store in BGC. Free and open to all, Pokemon fans and game enthusiasts have a chance to meet Pikachu in the flesh (sort of), enjoy original Pokémon screening (this one I’m kinda interested in), costume contests, and more family surprises. Pokémon GO players can also take part in walks and tours around BGC.
