As someone who doesn’t cook, I’m a huge fan of dining out, especially since there are always new restaurants opening, which I report on my blog’s Food section. But, don’t we all have days when we want home-cooked meals? And more frequently, don’t we just have days when we just want to save and not spend so much on dining out? So for people like me, who don’t cook but want cheap home-cooked-type meals FAST, it’s nice to have something like 555 Tuna as an option.

555 Tuna offers 12 variants of their home-cooked meal-inspired tuna: The best-selling blue line (Afritada, Caldereta, Adobo, and Mechado); the green line (Bicol Express, Lechon Paksiw, and Sisig); and orange line (Flakes in Oil, Hot & Spicy, Sweet & Spicy, Corned Tuna, and Chili Corned Tuna). Just open the easy-open can, pour the contents on a plate to heat in the microwave (if you don’t cook) or place in a pan to heat and perhaps add more spices and ingredients you prefer.

But adding ingredients is not even necessary as the brand now highlights how it’s “complete,” with the mix of tuna and vegetables in a flavourful sauce, depending on what lutong-bahay it’s inspired by. It’s actually the idea behind getting Marian Rivera to be their new endorser. As if a premonition for her recent announcement, the newly pregnant Marian’s introduction as the newest ambassador for 555 Tuna came with #KumpleTuna. “KumpleTuna ang buhay ko!” she exclaims in her new TV commercial for 555 Tuna.

Marian, who got married to actor Dingdong Dantes in a highly publicized ceremony late last year, is obviously glowing with happiness in the new TVC, which featured her enjoying wedded bliss. The beautiful actress reportedly really loves cooking and is in fact taking cooking classes. “Super happy ako to be chosen as the new face of 555 Tuna. Lumaki kasi ako sa Lola ko na lagi akong ipinagluluto, so ngayong may asawa na ako, sobrang nami-miss ko ang lutong-bahay. Thankfully, sa 555 Tuna, nahanap ko ‘yung lasang ‘yon—‘yung 555 Tuna Afritada nga, halos katulad nung afritada ni Lola!” said Marian. “Mas convenient pa especially ‘pag nasa tapings dahil naka-easy open can siya.”

So, take a cue from the Primetime TV Queen and work your “wonders” in the kitchen (or wherever you are, really) with the help of these lutong-bahay-inspired canned tuna.
