I think the best part about watching Into The Woods (aside from Chris Pine and Billy Magnussen singing “Agony”) was when they showed the Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer! I will not make any further comment on Into The Woods aside from it was a drag; the rest of this post shall now be about the epic follow-up to the biggest superhero movie of all time, I promise.
Basically, my reasons for writing this post are the following:
1. To make a note to myself and inform everyone else that Marvel’s latest blockbuster, Avengers: Age of Ultron, will open in Philippine theaters on April 22! I’m counting the days!
2. I wanted to post the movie’s latest trailer (which I saw on the big screen recently) on my blog so I can watch it anytime I please (while giving my blog some pageviews, hahaha!). Here it is:
3. I wanted to post some photos, as I tell you a little bit more about what I learned about the Avengers sequel from my friends at Columbia Pictures, who’s distributing the movie in the country for United International Pictures:
When Tony Stark (played by my ultimate celebrity crush Robert Downey Jr., eek!) tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America (played by another celeb crush, Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), The Incredible Hulk (played by yet another one of my long-time celeb crushes, Mark Ruffalo), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron (James Spader) emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.
Along the way, they confront two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Pietro Maximoff (played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, another sort-of celeb crush), and Wanda Maximoff (played by Elizabeth Olsen), and meet an old friend in a new form when Paul Bettany becomes Vision.
Who else is in it:
Don Cheadle is also in the movie as James Rhodes/War Machine; Cobie Smulders of How I Met Your Mother returns as Agent Maria Hill; and Samuel L. Jackson still plays Nick Fury.
Written and directed by Joss Whedon and produced by Kevin Feige, Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series The Avengers, first published in 1963. Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Victoria Alonso, Jeremy Latcham, Patricia Whitcher, Stan Lee, and Jon Favreau are the executive producers.
4. Avengers is one of my favorite movies of all time and I’ve watched it countless times, so I’m really excited for this one. I hope the sequel has as many funny moments as the first one, too. Aside from seeing all my celeb crushes, I’m also looking forward to that Stan Lee cameo and what comes after the credits!
You know where you’ll find me on April 22! I can’t wait!
How about you? What are you looking forward to the most in Avengers: Age of Ultron?
