Besides preparing for my wedding, there’s an even bigger aspect of my life I’m now cramming to prepare for: managing the home I’ll share with my husband-to-be when we get married.
As someone who decided furthering her career left no time for her to learn her way around the kitchen—okay, honestly, I really was just never interested—I am now struggling to learn to make various types of dishes and the tools and essentials I need to cook and serve them. However, I find that it’s a lot of fun and a welcome challenge I’m determined to pass with flying colors. When in the mall and department store, I make a beeline for the home and kitchen shops and sections than those for clothes; they excite me now!
So when I was invited to the relaunch of leading Japanese home and kitchen lifestyle brand Zojirushi in the Philippines, I made sure I didn’t miss it. I love things from Japan, and I know I’ll learn a thing or two (or more) that will help me in my current homemaking goal.
This global Japanese brand known for quality products since 1918 has established itself as a top manufacturer of vacuum bottles and has continued to use the latest technologies to create a constant stream of cutting-edge products that make life more comfortable and convenient.
This year, Zojirushi products that I think we’ll all find interesting and useful include the Induction Heating Rice Cooker, which induces heat directly to the molecular structure of rice resulting into better tasting rice. With its different pre-set rice settings (including the GABA brown rice option), timer feature, and Extended Keep Warm function, convenience is surely at helm in the kitchen.
There’s also the Micro-computerized (Micom) Rice Cookers, which boast of a top and bottom heating element feature, has five stages of cooking rice, namely Soaking, Heating, Cooking, Final Touch, and Steaming. It also has different pre-set rice settings (White, Brown, Mixed, Porridge, Sweet, Sushi), a timer feature to easily cook while you’re away, and the Extended Keep Warm function. If you want to make sushi rice, this is the perfect companion. Just look at how perfectly the rice was cooked for this sushi we made at the relaunch event:

Then there is Zojirushi’s airpots and handy pots. They are most reliable and efficient, with double walled glass vacuum insulation, ensuring heat is preserved. What’s more? They are non-electric but can preserve heat for up to 24 hours, allowing huge savings on electricity. They come with a safety lock for most models and a 360-degree swivel for some.
Taking lunch to work or school is also made more convenient with Zojirushi’s new line of lunch jars. With a vacuum insulated stainless steel construction, heat is easily preserved, keeping your food hot for up to 12 hours. Most models come with bags and chopsticks, and have a number of layers for varying consumer needs.

Zojirushi tumblers remain a must-have, as beverages stay in their preferred temperature for up to 24 hours, hot or cold. They come in a variety of colors and designs that are not only chic but also functional. A special stainless coating has been applied to these tumblers to protect them from corrosion, discoloration, and odor.
