As I’ve mentioned a few times on this blog, I love collecting Starbucks Cards—and using them, of course. Every purchase of a drink earns me a Star, and once I’ve accumulated 12 Stars, I can use them to get a free Grande handcrafted beverage with up to two add-ons! So really, as much as possible, I no longer use cash at Starbucks; I just regularly reload my Starbucks Card—whichever it is I decide to keep in my purse at any given time (right now I’m using their green heart-shaped die-cut card that I share with my fiancé).
So when I heard that this May, reloading your existing card comes with a special treat, I was ecstatic. In case you didn’t know yet, if you reload your existing Starbucks Card with at least P1,500 on May 25-27, you will get an additional P200 load!
In case you want to get a new Starbucks Card, they have several new designs that are currently featured in stores: The Starbucks White Cup Card (pictured above) and the Starbucks Woodgrain Card (pictured below) are now available for an initial consumable activation amount of P300.
You may also want to get the Starbucks Frappuccino die-cut cards (below) that have been available since April in new colors and can be bought for an initial consumable activation fee of P1,000 (I’m crushing on the purple!).
There’s also the new “Stay Cool” card (below) that has been available since April for in initial P300 load. I’m switching to this one next! There’s a purchase limit of two cards in any of these designs per customer per day.
And what must you use those cards for this summer? Purchasing Starbucks’ awesome summer beverages, of course. If you haven’t yet, you simply have to try their two featured Frappuccinos—a new Frappuccino flavor and a well-loved flavor from last year.
As a delightful throwback, Starbucks brings together two of our childhood favorite snacks—popcorn and pretzels—in its new delectable drink: Pop’zel Coffee Frappuccino Blended Beverage (below). Their classic Coffee Frappuccino is blended with delicious popcorn and pretzel syrup, and topped with real caramel popcorn and salted pretzel over whipped cream, thereby blending sweet with savory. I liked scooping up the bits of popcorn and eating the pretzel after I’ve finished the drink.
Their returning favorite is Roasted Marshmallow S’mores Frappuccino Blended Beverage (below). This vanilla-flavored Frappuccino is layered with smooth marshmallow whipped cream, indulgent chocolate sauce, and graham crumble. The saccharine concoction is then finished with whipped cream and more graham crumble on top. You can also ask your barista to make it coffee-based instead of cream-based—which I always do whenever I get this drink because I need my dose of caffeine.
These Frappuccinos with exciting toppings are available for P175 (Tall), P190 (Grande), and P205 (Venti) each. They won’t be around for long, so try them now!
Since it’s too hot to even drink hot coffee at home this summer, I’m glad there’s now Starbucks VIA Iced Coffee, P295 (pictured below). Its flavor profile is defined by hints of citrus and a caramelly-smooth finish, lightly sweetened with a touch of cane sugar for a well-balanced, refreshing finish. Starbucks VIA Iced Coffee is made from 100% Arabica beans from Latin America, specifically formulated to dissolve in cold water in an instant.
My Starbucks Rewards is a loyalty program that rewards customers by awarding them a Star for select purchases using their Starbucks Card. In case you didn’t know, you can also earn a Star for every purchase of a 12-pack Starbucks VIA. Customers who register their Starbucks Card online can also receive a complimentary Grande handcrafted beverage and even get a complimentary slice of cake upon purchase of any handcrafted beverage around the time of their birthday. Just know the validity of these perks—mine sadly expired before I had the chance to claim them.
Aside from earning Stars, My Starbucks Rewards also allows customers to track their transactions, pool more Starbucks Cards, and even reload their cards online. All they need to do is log in to their accounts and reload their Card using a Visa or MasterCard credit card or debit card. In case of loss or theft, customers can also deactivate their Starbucks Card through their online account.
