By now, you already know that whenever Starbucks launches a new drink, I usually try it before I even blog about it, but this time, I just want us all to be among the first to try these two promising new drinks that are available in Starbucks branches nationwide starting today, September 15, up to November 1, 2015. They seem as dark and rich as fall, and are great for warming up as the temperature slowly begins to drop (although they also come in Frappucino Blended Beverage versions for those still humid days).
The one I’m most excited to try is the Dark Caramel Latte (P135/Short; P145/Tall; P160/Grande; P170/Venti), which I’m sure my fellow caramel lovers will also not be able to resist. It combines creamy dark caramel sauce with steamed milk and their signature espresso, topped with whipped cream and a custardy, caramel flan drizzle. I will definitely try it as a Frappucino, too (P165/Tall; P175/Grande; P185/Venti).
Mocha and cocoa lovers will get the best of both worlds in Duo Cocoa Mocha (P145/Short; P155/Tall; P170/Grande; P180/Venti), in which they combined Duo Cocoa sauce with steamed milk and their roasty signature espresso, finished with chocolate whipped cream, mocha drizzle, and cocoa nibs sprinkles. Since they use a special whipped cream, I’m definitely keeping it on my drink this time, especially in the Frappucino version (P175/Tall; P185/Grande; P195/Venti).
PROMO ALERT: STARBUCKS VIA LATTE WEDNESDAYS
As if curiosity is not enough to make us want to order these drinks, Starbucks is throwing in a neat freebie to those who will purchase a Duo Cocoa Mocha or Dark Caramel Latte on September 16, 23, and 30 (Wednesdays): We will receive a complimentary stick of Starbucks VIA Latte (Caramel or Mocha)! Yay, because I love VIA! There’s no limit to the number of times we can avail of this promo on set days, so double yay! (#alamna)
While you’re at it, why not get the spanking new Starbucks Coffee Company Card, which is available for an initial load amount of P300, and use this when you try the new drinks. This special limited edition design captures their heritage, since the first Starbucks opened in 1971, which is to share great coffee with friends and help make the world a little better. Agree. I like the elegant black design. I also personally think it’s their most masculine PH card to date.
To go with this, if you’re the type who collects all special Starbucks anything, don’t forget to grab the Starbucks Anniversary Blend (P425). In 1996, they created the Starbucks Anniversary Blend to commemorate their 25th year. The flavor was unique and amazingly bold, and so the celebration continues today.
And I did mention that Starbucks’ latest offerings give us a taste of fall that we don’t get in this country, so you might also want to try the Starbucks Autumn Blend (P425). Make a big warm cup of this multi-region blend with notes of subtle spice, cocoa, and fine herbs. It has medium acidity, full body, and a round mouthfeel.
And what’s fall without colourful autumn leaves? Among all the new food items, this is what excites me most: the Chocolate Leaf Cookie (P65), a chocolatey cookie shaped like an autumn leaf! It looks too pretty to eat, but I can’t wait to bite into it! (Look at it! Waah!)
