I’ve loved churros since I was a kid, and I always make it a point to order some for dessert whenever I dine in a Spanish restaurant. In recent years, churros (Spanish fried dough pastry) have become a staple snacktime treat among Filipinos. A plethora of kiosks have popped up offering the deep-fried goodness in numerous malls nationwide. Churreria La Lola may be one of the buzzy brands, but they sure offer great churros con chocolate.


Since opening their first branch in Powerplant Mall in December 2014, Churreria La Lola now has 17 branches all over the Philippines—including one in Iloilo City, thank God! It’s my little piece of home, as I always say whenever I talk about the Iloilo branch.
