Between the special women and men in my life, I find it easier to find gifts for the women by virtue of I’m into whatever it is that they love, too. And if I really wanted to give say, my mom, something extra special and splurge a little bit, a statement piece of jewelry always works—like those from Tim Tam Ong’s latest collection, Majesty. I wouldn’t mind gifting myself something from the collection, too.
Handcrafted piece with carved onyx & citrine
Majesty by Tim Tam Ong features intricate pieces, meticulously done by Filipino artisans. When you see the collection, you get a sense that every detail was carefully considered and painstakingly done by the artisan. The collection highlights the beauty of stones, as if creating a pedestal for them to be appreciated by the world.
Handcrafted piece with pearls, jade, and topaz
One of the prominent pieces in the collection is jade. Once known as the yu or the “royal gem,” it was as valuable as gold and diamonds to Asians and was used for objects of great importance. Some pieces also incorporate precious stones like emerald, ruby, and sapphire, creatively transformed into one-of-a-kind keepsakes. The stones and the elaborate patterns envisioned by Tim Tam are a visual feast for the eyes that can enliven outfits, whether formal or casual.

What I noticed immediately about Tim Tam when I met her were her statement-making earrings and her obvious love for them, and it wasn’t long before she confirmed that for me during our conversation. That’s why her collection is mostly made up of such beautifully designed earrings that you can disassemble/assemble, according to the length you prefer (i.e. you may want smaller earrings for day, then you can attach the other dangling half for bigger impact when you go to your party at night). Preview her latest collection of earrings in the slideshow below. Click the first thumbnail to enlarge the photo and launch the rest of the photo gallery.
Tim Tam is a professional jeweler from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), a nonprofit institute dedicated to research and education in the field of gemology and the jewelry arts. (If your diamond engagement ring has a GIA Certificate, you can be sure it’s of great quality.) Her pieces are currently being exported to Singapore, Japan, Dubai, and New York.
