ILOILO CITY - I’m grateful that more and more brands are taking their best products and services to Iloilo so I wouldn’t need to feel FOMO for moving here after living in bustling, hip and happening Metro Manila all my life. One of the latest is Levi’s. Although it has had shops here for some time, it only recently brought in the permanent Levi’s Tailor Shop, where Ilonggos can step up their denim game through customization and personalization.
Located at the branch in Robinsons Place Iloilo, its first permanent home outside Metro Manila, Levi’s Tailor Shop allows Iloilo customers to work with a master tailor to place original patches, studs, and collectible pins for added attitude. I first experienced this in Manila when it was launched a while back, where I was able to customize a pair of Levi’s jeans with patches and distressing—it’s my favorite pair of Levi’s jeans to date.
I was able to experience the Tailor Shop services in Iloilo, this time on a pair of 501s turned into a tote bag (although it would have been nice to put them on jeans, since they have really cute, social media-friendly new patches). I added an Iloilo pin on the tiny pocket, a Philippines patch at the bottom corner, a patch embroidered with my name on one “back pocket,” and a panel of colorful fabric on the other “back pocket” to give it the perfect look in time for my Bali trip, since I planned to bring the tote bag with me, as you can see in the photo below:
Since not all my travel essentials fit in my Bali bag, I put everything else in my roomy Levi’s 501 tote, customized with a fabric panel and patches at the Tailor Shop in Iloilo
To give wearers the perfect fit and style, the Levi’s Tailor Shop also offers alteration services such as hemmings—something my husband always looks for when he’s buying pants. For those who want an extra touch of ownership and character, there’s custom fabric paneling for trucker jackets and distressing for jeans.
Patches are priced at P150 for one piece or P400 for a set of three; pins at P250/piece or P700 for a set of three; and studs at P50 for a set of 10. Embroidery rates are P30 for the first 3 letters, small font; P40 for first 3 letters, medium font; and P70 for first 3 letters, large font. Distressing is at P250.
At the Levi’s Tailor Shop, we are able to experience making Levi’s apparel our blank canvas for self-expression by adding patches, pins, and studs on trucker jackets or pants for an extra touch of attitude, character, and ownership. So if you got new pairs of Levi’s jeans or jackets for Christmas, or would like to get a new one for the New Year, you should definitely customize it at the Levi’s Tailor Shop at Robinsons Place Iloilo.
In case you were wondering, Levi’s Tailor Shop can only work on Levi’s products, old or new. Please don’t try to bring non-Levi’s apparel. You may, however, bring your own patches and have them done at the Levi’s Tailor Shop, as long as you purchase other Levi’s products/patches. Note that the machines and tools they use are tuned only for garments like jeans, truckers, chambrays, and heavier twill like chinos, canvas, corduroy pants, etc.
