We all want to give gifts that are unique, that we hope the receiver would love but hopefully still not have. But, where else in Manila will you find something that a lot of people don’t have yet? You might want to check out the newly opened shop of British handbag and accessories brand Radley in Shangri-La Plaza.

If you want to give something special to the special woman in your life—be it your mom, your sister, your best friend, yourself, or (for the men reading this page) your girlfriend or wife, you can’t go wrong with a statement-making handbag, ideally from a good brand that not a lot of people in Manila shop from yet. If you like a bag that looks pretty and is also functional, especially when you look inside and find all these useful compartments, you’re sure to find one in Radley—founded in 1998 in London by Lowell Harder, who is driven by a passion for color, carefully considered design, and a strong belief that a bag only truly works when it is beautiful both inside and out.

In 2000, Lowell had a chance encounter with a young woman dressed all in black except for a bright red hat and socks, and proudly marching alongside her was a little black Scottie dog with a bright red collar. Lowell loved this quirky little character and designed a little black Scottie dog tag to add to her latest bag collection. Very quickly, the Scottie went on to become a much loved and internationally recognized symbol of the Radley brand. It’s so cute! You’ll see it as keychains, bag charms, bag prints, and this year, even as a handbag!

The first Radley store opened in 2005 on London’s Kings Road; the company now has a portfolio of 33 UK stores, e-commerce site (shipping to 47 countries), and a growing international business. Today, it has evolved into a British icon of affordable luxury—with pieces at under £300. Radley designs, retails, and distributes a range of handbags, small leather goods, luggage, workbags, and accessories, including boots.

For Autumn/Winter 2015, Radley celebrates its ongoing love affair with bold hues and beautifully blended color palettes—which include pretty shades with names like Lake, Corn Husk, and the classic Old Rose. Using a combination of exceptional leathers and subtle details, their bags can transform a simple outfit into a statement-making one. Scroll for some of their latest collections, and view the slideshow at the bottom of the article for fabulous gift ideas!

A key new shape for the season, the sophisticated box shaped bag blends architectural design with bold new colors and smooth rolled leather.

Columbia Road

These bags are crafted from hardwearing textured Sherington leather to give them a structured shape: simple silhouettes meet contemporary detailing with dual compartment front pockets. A mustard yellow blouse will go well with this ’70s style grab bag’s deep blue shade.

Maltby Street

Maltby Street

This laid-back range of essential everyday styles features their new supple Langton leather for that vintage feel. Pair the retro red Maltby Street backpack with a white cashmere sweater for a bold contrast.

Keates Grove

Keats Grove

This range is named after John Keats, the beloved English romantic poet, and the London road he lived on. It features a nostalgic envelope pocket, inspired by the hundreds of love letters he penned for his wife throughout his life. To make a statement, try pairing a pair of burgundy trousers with the ladylike powder pink Keats Grove bag.

A contemporary take on the traditional doctor’s bag, this brilliantly constructed rigid leather bag is crafted from Altmore smooth matte leather.

This range of minimalist structured bags is named after the modern architectural gem found in the heart of London.

Border Weave

Each bag has been individually handwoven by their master craftsman, fusing the fluidity of ombre with neat geometric references.

Radley Medium Ziptop Shoulder Bag in Black

The Radley dog is a global icon, so for AW15 they dedicated a 3D handbag to their little friend—instantly recognizable and playfully eccentric.
