My blog’s Beauty section talks about the latest products, trends, and establishments you can try to look and feel great by properly caring for and maintaining your skin and body. However, the Beauty section is only one of six sections in my lifestyle blog, so I can’t honestly say I can focus just on skin care, makeup, pampering, nails, fitness, and other beauty topics in between daily.
However, I would like to direct you to one website that actually focuses on skin care, which Filipinos tend to try to learn more and more about online. As Google Trends highlights, searches related to skin care have been steadily rising over recent years as people turn to the Internet when looking for solutions to skin concerns, how-tos, and product recommendations. Yet, besides the beauty blogs and lifestyle blogs like mine with a dedicated Beauty section, there has never been a single online expert on skin readily available on the web—until now.
SkinMatters.com.ph is the first ever local website dedicated to skin care. A collaboration among some of the savviest authorities on skin—Unilever, the Philippine Dermatological Society, and an editorial team of skin care experts and writers (I’m proud to say I also contributed some articles here, do check them out!)—SkinMatters.com.ph aims to offer concerned men and women an omnibus site on everything skin care related.
Featuring a wide array of content, SkinMatters.com.ph will house everything from articles on how to best fight pimples and how to decode your sunscreen, to how-to videos and even top bloggers’ and celebrities’ tips, tricks, and top trends. Visitors can also read testimonials from real users and can recommend products themselves in the reviews section of the website.
But perhaps the most exciting feature of the website is the Ask a Derma functionality, where readers can consult with the Philippine Dermatological Society regarding specific and worrisome skin concerns for free. PDS representatives will also give real-time answers to these users’ concerns (with reportedly a maximum response time of within two days from receiving the query).
“The website will be curated to remind our readers about the importance of taking care of their skin,” my friend and SkinMatters.com.ph Editor-in-Chief Nicole Romero explains. “We teach them how to find the best products for their complexion by talking about the best ingredients to look out for in the aisles—not which brands to buy.”
SkinMatters.com.ph goes live tomorrow, May 1, 2015, so there is no need to open and compare 10 tabs on your browser anymore when looking up skin concerns, because they can now all be found in one comprehensive site. Explore the website to discover skin care secrets from the experts.
